The Hubbard Centers are client-centered, clinically intensive, residential communities providing long-term individual, group and family therapy to chemically dependent adolescents between the ages of 13 and 21.
Our highly structured six month program uses developmentally appropriate, evidence-based practices specifically designed for adolescents with substance abuse disorders.
Each youth receives individualized treatment by a team of professionals, including:
    Addiction Counselors (CASAC)
    Social Workers
    Family Therapists
    Recreation Therapists
    Certified Teachers
    Registered Nurses
    Physicians
    Psychiatrists
    Mental Health Counselors
Centrally located in New York’s Capital Region, residents and their families are encouraged to work together and actively participate in the recovery process.
Goals of Treatment
At Hope House, our core philosophy can be understood in terms of our basic goals of treatment to:
Engage youth in actively thinking about how drug use has impacted their lives
Identify, feel, and express emotions without using substances
    Identify relapse triggers
    Rebuild family relationships
Develop problem solving and decision making skills
Obtain educational and vocational skills in order to become self-supporting
Manage co-occurring disorders such as anxiety and depression
    Improve self-esteem
    Establish a healthy support network

What makes a residential treatment program more effective than other treatment options?  With residential treatment:
Children are kept away from old "friends"
By temporarily removing a child from people who may be encouraging that child to use drugs, the self-destructive cycle of drug use is interrupted.
Children are surrounded with new friends
Through the support of a new group of people, some sharing the experience of breaking the destructive addiction cycle, the resident receives needed help and support in regaining personal responsibility over choices.
We provide enforced boundaries and healthy structure
Boundaries are important for our residents, and structure is highly beneficial to the success of treatment. The program re-establishes needed limitations and structure for the child dealing with chemical dependency.  At the same time, the child learns to look at his or her own behavior in terms of its effect on his/herself and others.
Parents play a key role
Our program works in conjunction with a crucial involvement of the child’s parents.  Parents have an opportunity to learn skills for enforcing boundaries that the Hope House program has reintroduced to the child.  This educational component allows for the kind of important follow-up support and preservation of boundaries critical to the child’s continued success.
The Hubbard Centers are places:
? Where residents are safe from physical and emotional harm
? Where residents feel protected from destructive influences
? Where treatment is supervised 24 hours a day
? Where people believe anyone can change
