VCC The Gary Center
341 South Hillcrest Street, La Habra 90631
Center Description: Cognitive behavioral therapy,Substance abuse counseling approach,Trauma-related counseling,12-step facilitation approach,Motivational interviewing,Anger management,Martix Model,Relapse prevention
User Reviews: VCC The Gary Center is truly the best place you could send someone who’s addicted to drugs. My brother went there last year and he’s changed so much in that time. He went from shooting heroin to helping people get off heroin. Went from manipulating my mom out of money or just stealing money from our parents to working hard to get them paid back. He hasn’t paid them back completely but he sends them money from every paycheck he gets and he’s proud of the fact that he’s able to do it. He’s taken so much from my parents that to see him trying so hard to make up for it is amazing. I had stopped talking to him 2 years before he went to VCC The Gary Center. I was just sick of watching him ruin his life and when he stole a bunch of money from our parents I was just done. He started writing me letters when he got out detox at VCC The Gary Center. I was worried the first time I got one of his letters because every rehab he’s gone to before going to VCC The Gary Center all he did was complain about them. He hated being at them or he hated the people or the staff weren’t nice, it was always something and so I was expecting the same thing from him this time. However, I could tell that VCC The Gary Center was different for him. He told me that the detox he went through wasn’t too bad and that the detox staff really helped him get through it fairly comfortably. He loved the staff there and throughout his programs the letters continued to praise the program and the people working there. While he was there he told me that he had decided that he wanted to do the same thing with his life. He wanted to work there and help people get off drugs. That was a shock for me as I didn’t think he’d ever be that intent on helping others. He got to choose the program he did at VCC The Gary Center. He talked with his counselor about it of course the decision of how he was going to help himself get off drugs was ultimately up to him and that made a huge difference for him. He told me that when he decided on the program he was going to do was when he made the decision to really do that program and get sober for good. He started playing the guitar again. He was always playing when we were growing up but he sold his guitar to get heroin and so stopped playing. They have a music room at VCC The Gary Center where he spent most of his free time. By the time my brother finished his program we were talking on the phone again and I was so happy to have my brother back in my life. He is back at VCC The Gary Center working and he’s doing amazing. I don’t worry about him so much anymore and I know that he’s doing something he loves. It’s been such a great year with my brother and just knowing that he’s going to continue to do good is pretty awesome.

It is true when they say that Lake Hughes Recovery is the best, cause they are! They treat the underlying causes of the disease and not just have you stop using. My therapist was great, the management is so understanding and amazing. It really is like a family. I am now at a sober living but I miss Lake Hughes Recovery but I promised, I will only go back as a success story on alumni day. Thank you, Leanne, Jeff and the rest of the amazing people here. Latest Reviews Of Rehab Centers In Corte Madera CA
They really take care well for their clients, especially the facilitators, they are very nice. Also, the therapists are nice, and their one on one consulatitons ate very effective. The food is good, I beleive they do try to make sure that everyone gets the best nutritious food as possible. I think the SMART recovery is a very strong program that they offer, also the communications, those are very helpful, and really gives you some new points of view on your life.
It saved my life and my marriage. Best decision I ever made. I had been to treatment before and this was another league. Everybody there is truly amazing. What a place! Everything.
There is a great balance of structure and freedom. Nice, friendly, staff. They incorporate peers as a staff that helps the addict connect. Fantastic staff! The facility is like a 5-Star resort with all of its amazing amenities. I will recommend San Francisco General Hospital SFGH Substance Abuse ServsMeth Maintenance to anyone in need.
They are the best. You’re able to participate in the group during detox and that helped you not feel so lonely. The outings and groups were fun. The treatment facility is amazing. They have a very high staff-to-client ratio. I very much enjoyed the group therapy and recreational sessions.
