The Wilbur D. Mills Center, named for the late Arkansas Congressman, offers a detoxification/residential treatment program to individuals with chemical addiction. The Mills Center, a division of Health Resources of Arkansas, Inc., maintains the highest standards of treatment and care and is Nationally Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). The Mills Center is, licensed by the Arkansas Department of Health's Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention.
Detoxification Center
Our Detoxification Center is a state of the art medically supervised facility with a physician on call and full-time nursing staff to monitor vital signs for determining the need for medical assistance. Currently, the Detoxification Center provides 20 private bedrooms and baths for detoxification services. For full recovery and prevention of relapse, the client is given the opportunity to enter residential treatment following adequate detoxification.
Residential Treatment
Upon entering the Residential Treatment Program, each person's needs are assessed and an individual treatment plan is formulated with specific and measurable goals evaluated throughout recovery. The focus of residential treatment is to enhance recovery, rehabilitation, and personal growth. The goals of individualized treatment plans are achieved through both individual and supportive group treatment activities. During residential treatment, certified counselors assist clients in understanding the dynamics of their chemical addiction. Positive coping and socialization skills are taught which provide a constructive guide for daily living, with a comprehensive emphasis on relapse prevention.
Family Support
During both detoxification and residential care, the family is provided all possible assistance necessary by encouraging family counseling. Stabilization (detoxification), evaluation (residential care), and rehabilitation (transitional living), provided at the Wilbur D. Mills Center offers individuals a comprehensive treatment plan for successful recovery.
The staff of the Wilbur D. Mills Center dedicates themselves to excellent care for all individuals with chemical addiction. Also, treatment and services for those "dually diagnosed" (concurrent diagnosis of mental illness and addiction) are available by full-time mental health therapists and case management. It is our belief that addiction is a disease and should be treated as such. We believe that our effort to restore the substance abuser to a level of physical and mental health should be provided regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex or economic condition

A computer training center
The Kay Goss Women's Unit (14 apartments for women and their children.
Mills' treatment plan blends the best attributes of the medical/behavioral, family systems and 12-step Addiction Recovery models. The treatment team consists of a medical director, registered nurses, clinical psychologists, a psychiatrist, certified substance abuse counselors, and social workers. This team develops an individual treatment plan for each patient.
