Provider Description

The Cahaba Center for Mental Health provides substance abuse and mental health services as well as developmental disabilities assistance to children, adolescents and adults who are residents of the Dallas, Perry, and Wilcox counties. This center provides intensive outpatient treatment and general outpatient services for adults 18 and over.

The programs to address certain needs that are offered are as follows:

  • Mental illness
  • Substance abuse
  • Co-occurring disorders
  • Developmental disabilities
  • Case management
  • Patient assistance program
  • Diabetes management
  • Court referral education
  • Emergency services

Payment for services are on a sliding scale that is based on income and other factors and there is also payment assistance.

Cahaba Center for Mental Health offers intensive outpatient treatment (IOT) and general outpatient services for adults (age 18 and older). This treatment setting is less restrictive than residential treatment. It permits the client to receive professional care without disrupting the normal home environment and employment conditions. Treatment options consist of two separate tracks: one for the general adult population and one to meet the unique needs of substance abusing pregnant women and women with dependent children.
